Shipping from the Depot

Shipping expenses from the Depot to the station will be prepaid. Shipping expenses for returning defective equipment modules to the Depot are a station responsibility. UPS ground freight or its equivalent is an acceptable method in most cases. Collect shipments will not be accepted by the Depot.

For non-off-the-air situations, the Depot will ship replacement modules to the station by surface freight. Upgrades to a faster method of shipping for non-off-the-air situations may be arranged at the station's expense using bill recipient procedures.

Shipments involving a station which is in an off-the-air situation will be shipped by the fastest practical method available.

Returning Defective Equipment

A separate repair tag should be completed for each item to be returned to the Depot. Enclosed in the package with the replacement item will be a repair tag, which is to be tied to the defective item, and a return shipping label. The station engineer should complete all entries on the STATION side of the repair tag. It is most important that the serial number of the defective module is properly noted on the tag, and that a concise description of the problem is provided. If several modules are being returned to the Depot at the same time, it is important that the correct repair tag is attached to each module, and that the Trouble Ticket number on each shipping label matches the modules contained inside.
