Holiday Programming Reminders

As the holiday season approaches, we want to remind PRSS producers of some tips to make sure that stations receive your special programming in an automated fashion. We also have suggestions for station personnel to ensure your holiday programming is available when you need it.

Producers

1. Please give stations ample advance notice when you create any new series or specials. Stations must be subscribed in advance of the begin air date of your file-based episodes in order to receive the files automatically. Any stations that subscribe after automated delivery has occurred must manually download the files.

2. Please consult with the PRSS Help Desk if you are creating a new special with multiple episodes. We can advise you regarding the best way to set up the special in the ContentDepot so that stations can receive the files in an automation-friendly manner.

3. If you wish to re-deliver a previous holiday special to stations, please contact us. We can work with you to make sure your special is appropriately re-delivered to subscribed stations and review any associated delivery charges.

4. Please contact the PRSS Help Desk (800.971.7677 or prsshelp@npr.org) with any questions or concerns.

Stations

Please remember to subscribe early to holiday specials. We have asked producers to provide stations with ample notice in advance of the begin air date of any file-based episodes. You must be subscribed before a holiday special air window begins in order to receive automated delivery of a special.

If you subscribe after the episode air window has begun, you will need to manually download files via the ContentDepot portal.
