Additional Services and Rates
Audio Services
Equalization/Filtering:
No additional charge. Subject to equipment availability.
Noise Reduction:
Dolby SR only. No additional charge. Subject to equipment availability.
Playback:
Analog 1/2 track reel-to-reel, DAT, CD, Dalet Digital Audio System. No additional charge.
Recording:
Dalet Digital Audio System (Useful for repeat transmissions or for delivery of programs to the STC via ISDN for later transmission.) Call for more information. No additional charge for recording.
Media Playback Information
Producer must provide the STC with accurate transition information and reel change times. This information should also be provided to stations.
TELCO/Switched Services
The STC currently has nine ISDN lines, with codecs supporting the G.722, ISO/MPEG Layer II (MUSICAM), and ISO/MPEG Layer III protocols. There is no additional charge for the use of these units when combined with a satellite transmission. Please specify which protocol you require when placing your transmission services order. Customer is responsible for placing the ISDN call to the STC.
Two-line Comrex receive also available.
Studio Facilities
The STC is a switching facility, and has no production facilities. The NPR Audio Engineering Division offers a full range of studio and production services. For more information, contact NPR's Studio Manager at 202.513.2482.
