Do's and Don'ts
From the outset, you should consider the ways you will market or sell your program. NPR Distribution suggests a variety of marketing strategies: DACS messages, direct mail, and/or telephone call campaigns.
Another important element is the timetable you will set between the first announcement of your program and its actual transmission. Stations need sufficient lead time to promote the program to attract the largest possible audience. For example, for a new series, stations will usually need at least three months lead time.
