2010 PRSS ContentDepot® Rates

Producers are billed for ContentDepot® distribution according to the number of megabytes used to transmit a program. Using this model, a quarter hour of programming is approximately the equivalent of 14.4 megabytes of mono or 28.8 megabytes of stereo.

Effective January 1, 2010, the PRSS® will roll the former automated and live ingest fees, and the system usage fees, into blended rates for both file and live-stream programs. "First mile" costs (costs of getting programs to the uplink, whether via ISDN, other circuit, or delivery service) are to be borne by the producer.

2010 PRSS ContentDepot® Full-Time Rates


Data capacity is measured in megabytes and can be purchased in two service types: megabyte buckets and a streaming service. Both service types must be purchased on a six-month commitment basis.

Megabyte  Buckets

Megabyte buckets can be used any time of day and are non-linear, in that this service provides producers the ability to distribute multiple programs at any given time. Capacity from the megabyte buckets can be used to distribute file-based programs or live streams. The ContentDepot® Full-Time Rate Card includes large, medium, and small megabyte  buckets, priced on a monthly basis.

Streaming Service

Program distributors using the streaming service are required to distribute programs as live streams that must be sent as an uninterrupted feed to the Network Operations Center (NOC). This service is essentially unattended by the PRSS since programming enters the system in a continuous stream and switching is not necessary. The ContentDepot® Full-Time Rate Card includes 12- or 24-hour stereo or mono streams, priced on a monthly basis. Stream service customers will also be assessed a monthly uplink charge.
