NPR Distribution Implements New Scheduling Software
On October 30, 2003, NPR Distribution transitions to a new scheduling system (ScheduALL/ScheduLINK) to replace our current homegrown scheduling system. While many of the changes will be internal to NPR Distribution, the greater efficiency of the new system will improve the quality of the services we provide our customers. The ScheduALL system is being implemented with an eye towards its capabilities as the scheduler for live program streams in the ContentDepot.
We have tested the system extensively to ensure that the change will be transparent to stations and producers. Stations will be notified when the first SOSS schedule entries from the new system are delivered to station computers to verify proper operation of SOSS/ARA templates. Once the new system is in place, Public Radio Services will be able to provide producers with enhanced order confirmations, immediate cost information, and channel availability.
Throughout the transition to the new system, PRSS staff will periodically send DACS messages with updates and new information. If you have any questions in the meantime, please send an email to prsshelp@npr.org or call PRSS Technical Support at 800.971.SOSS.
