Former WGBH Vice President and General Manager Marita Rivero has been officially appointed as a trustee of The Public Radio Satellite Interconnection System Charitable Trust. General Managers of PRSS participating-interconnected stations voted recently to approve the Trust’s nomination of Rivero to succeed Trustee Phil Rubin who has retired. The Trust’s other trustees are former KVRU-LP, Seattle manager Sharon Maeda and former NPR Vice President for Distribution Pete Lowenstein.
The Trust owns the PRSS’s satellite leases and network-operating equipment, which NPR manages on behalf of all the stations. The Trust also holds and oversees a fund that helps maintain the PRSS. More information on the Trust is available on here.
