PRSS to Conduct Maintenance on Uplink Antenna April 28, 2013

On Sunday, April 28, 2013, beginning at 14:59:10 ET and extending through 16:59:10 ET, the PRSS must conduct maintenance on its primary uplink antenna. This work will require the transfer of uplinks between our antennas for a period of two hours as outlined above.

This transfer will affect only the files and streams carriers; it will not affect ContentDepot portal functions such as uploads, HTTP downloads, messaging, etc.

Stations may hear a slight stutter in the active programs streams at 14:59:10 ET and 16:59:10 ET, the beginning and ending of the process. The files carrier, while being a part of the switchovers, will not show any effects to users.

One note: stations using the legacy SR2000pro stream decoders in a fixed-tune mode may see these units lose lock on the satellite carrier. Stations that experience this problem will need to reset these decoders’ LNB offset. Manually tuning an SR2000pro will not prevent a loss of signal due to an LNB offset problem. Instructions for performing this task can be at http://www.prss.org/media/support/Resetting-the-LNB-Offset.pdf.

We apologize for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the PRSS Help Desk at 800.971.7677 or prsshelp@npr.org.
