WebDACS Messaging System Enhancements

Responding to station and producer requests for more efficient program information messaging, NPR Distribution updated the WebDACS system with several new features, including:

  • Text search capability.
  • An expanded archive for storing and searching messages.
  • The ability to include multiple release times for pre-scheduled messages.

These messaging features are among the first service enhancements to the Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS) being released as part of the ContentDepot initiative. The ContentDepot is NPR Distribution's model for the future of public radio program delivery services. The ContentDepot concept includes distributed storage of programming and metadata, store-and-forward as well as real time program delivery, web-based tools for scheduling, messaging, program usage reporting, and more.

If you have any questions about the new WebDACS features, please call the PRSS Help Desk at 202.513.2666, or email prsshelp@npr.org.
