Questions about Messaging in the ContentDepot

How do I send messages in the ContentDepot?

Until the formal cutover to ContentDepot messaging, you may continue to use WebDACS to send your messages if you choose. However, if you are using the new ContentDepot messaging system, your messages will be forwarded automatically to the DACS, so they can be viewed by stations that have not yet made the transition to ContentDepot. The reverse is not true: messages sent only through the DACS system are not available to those stations that have converted to ContentDepot. At this time (April 2007), stations are relying on WebDACS to receive messages.

How do I send rundowns (e.g., timings and cues)?

Until the formal cutover to ContentDepot messaging, you may continue to use WebDACS to send your rundowns. Alternatively, you can use the ContentDepot messaging system to send rundowns since these messages will be forwarded to DACS.

If you are using ContentDepot messaging to send your rundowns, please use the following process to submit a rundown for your program(s):

Select the "Send Message" link under "Mail" in the left navigation.
Make sure you select the program name as the sender.
Select "Rundowns" as the message type.
The recipient list for the rundown will automatically fill in with the subscribed stations for your program. You can type in additional recipients as appropriate.
Complete all other required fields and fill in your rundown text as you do now for DACS.
Send the rundown message.

Please note that this procedure for sending rundowns is different than what has been covered in the ABC guide and in various training sessions. This procedure is only expected to be required through the dual operations period. Before dual operations is concluded, you will be sent communications on how to input rundowns in the ContentDepot manner via the episode page. At that time, separate mail messages for rundowns will no longer be required.
