ContentDepot^® Transition to Begin with Dual Operations

During the ContentDepot transition, PRSS^® is operating the new ContentDepot^® and the existing satellite distribution system simultaneously. The goals of this period of dual operation include:

• allowing stations and producers time to set up and test new equipment and delivery systems;
• resolving any local problems before cutover; and
• ensuring a smooth transition to full ContentDepot operations.

Dual operations began in November 2006. It is extremely important that you begin local testing of ContentDepot equipment and systems as early in this period as possible, so that any local problems can be resolved before cutover.

During dual operations, stations should plan to keep the existing ABR700's connected as a backup through the end of the transition. If you are running short of space, a minimal complement of two Comstream demodulators, one IF bus selector, and two downconverters should be sufficient.
