Fall Housekeeping for Producers
Fall is a great time to do some weeding to keep your ContentDepot programs in order. A few simple activities will make it easier for stations to locate your active programs in the ContentDepot and will make sure all the information in the system is as current as possible.
Cancel Old Programs: If you have programs that have concluded their broadcast schedule, please cancel them in the ContentDepot portal. Canceling a program automatically 1) removes it from search so stations aren’t confused about which programs are current and 2) removes stations from the program’s subscription list.
To cancel a program in the ContentDepot: 1. Log into the ContentDepot portal. You must have permissions to edit the program to be able to cancel it.
2. Navigate to the program you wish to cancel.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the program page, and click the cancel button. Please make sure that you are canceling the correct program before you click this button.
4. The cancel process may take a while--particularly for programs that have a lot of episodes. The system is not only processing the cancel request, but is also automatically removing associated files and taking the program off of station subscription lists.
5. When the cancellation is complete, you will see the "Program Status" in the upper right corner of the program page display as "Cancelled".
6. Please contact the PRSS Help Desk if you require any assistance.
Remove Past Episode Files If you have a backlog of past episodes with associated files, please take a few minutes to remove old files that are no longer needed. This will free up space in your ContentDepot storage as well as for the entire system.
To delete old files:
1. Navigate to your program(s). Click on the episode tab.
2. Select "past episodes". A listing of episodes with air windows in the past will display.
3. Check the box in the far right column next to any episodes for which files can be deleted.
4. Click the "Remove Files" button to delete all files associated with the selected episodes.
Any file cleanup you can do is always greatly appreciated!
